First Time on Marco Island?
Welcome! Here's what you should know.
ποΈ Marco is a barrier island β it's about 6 miles wide and accessible by one main road (SR-951). There's one real downtown area.
π‘οΈ Winter is peak season β December through April is the best weather. Expect mid-70s to low-80s, low humidity, and mostly sunny skies.
π You'll want a car or golf cart β things are spread out. Uber/Lyft is limited. Renting a golf cart is fun and practical.
π Beaches are public β all Florida beaches below the high tide line are public. Resident's Beach and South Beach are both beautiful.
π¦ Bug spray in summer β no-see-ums are real. If you're here in summer, bring bug spray for evenings outside.
π΅ Cash-friendly island β many charter boats, local vendors, and smaller restaurants still prefer cash or check.

No-Car Guide to Getting Around
You don't need a car to have a great time on Marco β here's how to get around without one.
Rent a Golf Cart
The best option. Rent one for the week β costs about the same as one Uber trip and you can go anywhere on the island.
Island Trolley
Free seasonal trolley loops the main areas. Check the schedule β great for sightseeing.
Marco Island Taxi
Reliable local cab service. Book in advance for airport runs.
Walk the Beach
Many restaurants and shops are walking distance from the beach area.
π‘ Pro Tip
If you're flying into RSW (Southwest Florida International), pre-book a car service. It's about 45 minutes and local car services are far more reliable than rideshare here.
Once you're on the island, a golf cart rental is your best friend. Ask us for our recommended vendor.
